Endearing Adita
Endearing Adita
It is rare to truly see a chicken. So many people look at them without really taking them in, and dismiss them as stupid or silly or unimportant. Adira challenges all of this as she gazes proudly into our eyes, every bit as majestic as an eagle.
Adira was pulled, bleeding and nearly dead, from a garbage bin on the streets of New York in 2016. She had been used for a religious ritual, however, the person who meant to cut her throat failed. Thankfully, a caring volunteer found her and brought her to safety at Indraloka, where she lived with the freedom and dignity that every life deserves. Adira challenged our ideas about chickens at every turn, and we will always be grateful for the lessons she taught.
