Tao in the Now

Autumn colors in the background bring out the highlights in Tao’s thick wool coat. The hay hanging from his mouth and the flakes of bedding in his coat remind us that he is very much at home-- like a portrait of a human in a bathrobe enjoying breakfast. Tao’s expression-- calm and focused-- reminds us to enjoy each moment as it comes to us.

Dignified Tao was about to be someone’s Easter dinner when we were lucky enough to have the chance to intervene. From the moment we brought him to the sanctuary, he has wowed us with his wisdom and warmth towards all living things.
